FOIA PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES
It is the public policy of the State of Michigan that all persons (except those persons incarcerated in State or local correctional facilities) are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent them as public officials and public employees, and that the people shall be informed so that they may fully participate in the democratic process.
HOW DO I SUBMIT A FOIA REQUEST TO CCE CENTRAL DISPATCH?
- A request must sufficiently describe a public record, to enable CCE Central Dispatch to locate the record(s).
- An online FOIA Request Form can be completed through our website, by clicking the “FOIA Request Form” to the left.
- The words “FOIA” or “FOIA Request” must be in the request to assist CCE Central Dispatch in providing a prompt response.
- Requests to inspect or obtain copies of public records prepared, owned, used, possessed or retained by CCE Central Dispatch may be submitted on our website through the FOIA Request Form, or by letter, fax, email, or by verbal request. Any verbal request will be documented by CCE Central Dispatch using the FOIA Request Form on the website.
- A specific form to submit a written request is not required. However, a FOIA Request Form is available online through our website and other FOIA-related forms are available by clicking on the document links below or at 1694 US 131 Highway, Petoskey, Michigan 49770.
- Written requests may be delivered in person or by mail to the office at 1694 US 131 Highway, Petoskey, Michigan, but must contain the words “FOIA” or “FOIA Request”.
- Requests may be faxed to (231) 348-1087. To ensure a prompt response, faxed requests must contain the term “FOIA” or “FOIA Request” on the first/cover page.
- Requests may be emailed to [email protected]. Again, to ensure a prompt response, email requests must contain the term “FOIA” or “FOIA Request” in the subject line.
